Your pet's first visit with us

What to expect at Ternwood, from the first call to the end of the first exam.

How it works

  1. Call to book

Call (321) 555-0142 and tell us your pet's name, age, and what worries you.

  2. Send your pet's records

Ask your last vet or shelter to email us your pet's records. Vaccines matter most.

  3. Come in a few minutes early

Dogs on a leash, cats in a carrier. Cats can use the quiet side door.

  4. Meet your vet

A full exam, time for questions, and a written summary to take home.

Your first visit

A first visit runs about 30 minutes. Your vet examines your pet nose to tail, reviews past records and vaccines, and talks through anything you have noticed at home.

Bring a list of your pet's food, medicines and supplements. A fresh stool sample in a sealed bag helps if your pet is due for a parasite check.

If your pet gets nervous at the vet, tell us when you book. We can pick a quieter time of day and keep the visit short.

Pet insurance

We do not bill pet insurers directly. You pay at the visit, and we give you an itemized invoice and the visit notes for your claim. If your insurer needs a form, we fill in the vet's part.

Payment

We accept cash, credit and debit cards, and CareCredit.

New client questions

What if I do not have my pet's records?

Come anyway. We will examine your pet and recommend vaccines based on age, history and lifestyle. If records turn up later, send them and we will update the file.

How do I pay?

Payment is due at the visit. We take cash, credit and debit cards, and CareCredit.
